Spring Avenue Park Project
The Spring Avenue Park Project is the renovation of Spring Avenue Park located in the Fifth Ward of the City. The scope of the project included the development of a Master Plan for the Park which was completed in December 2022. Currently, construction documents are being created. The project will be bid in spring 2023 and constructed in summer/fall 2023.
Who is involved?
The Master Plan was led by the Spring Avenue Park Steering Committee organized by the City’s Planning & Development Office. Environmental Planning & Design (EPD) was the consultant team selected to guide the design phase of the project. EPD is a Pittsburgh-based landscape architecture and urban design firm with over 80 years of experience.
A construction firm has not been selected.
What is the budget?
Approximately $600,000 in funding has been secured for the design and construction through the City’s Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program.
What is happening now?
Demolition and site work is underway, and construction will follow in summer/fall 2023.
